Is this festival free???? Or how much are tickets??
Yes, believe it or not, this concert is free! That's why it was voted the best music festival in Western North Carolina in a reader poll in the Asheville Citizen Times. The City of Brevard and a number of key local sponsors pick up the tab. So come enjoy, and spread the word.
How come no blues? Seems like all we hear these days is bluegrass and alternative!
I ask the same question about blues every year, and all I get is blank stares, and shrugged shoulders. I don't think they know what blues is. One person I asked told me blues and bluegrass is the same thing.
"Marcus James" jazz saxophone player from Macon GA will be playing with the Patrick Smith Band on Saturday evening, May 24th at 9 p.m. Marc is a Brevard native and has played with numerous groups out of the Atlanta area.
Are dogs allowed at the festival and live music?
Hi Kelly,
Unfortunately, dogs (other than seeing eye dogs) are not allowed. Turns out this was one of our biggest security problems the first couple of years, since some dogs tend to "go after" other ones and tie it up. So it wasn't a problem of dogs bothering people, but more each other. So they made a rule to keep dogs at home. Plus this year we expect about 25,000 visitors with the addition of the Rotary's 5K and 10K runs, the expanded Squirrel Box Derby over two days (Sat. & Sun) and the extended musical lineup. So the streets should be nice and busy.
Let me know if you have any other questions.
